Handled

Handled.No chasing. Just quotes.

Local trades, quoted and booked in one app.

The home screen: "Hi there", "What needs doing?", a "Describe the job" box, and "Or pick a trade" with a "List view" button and tiles for Plumber, Electrician, Cleaner, Exterior cleaner, Handyman and Gardener.

How it works

Post a job. Get quotes. Done.

  1. Step 1

Describe the job in your own words.

Handled works out the trade and fills in the details. You check each one before the job is posted.

Describe it: "Dripping tap under the sink", read by Anthropic's AI and matched to Plumber because you mentioned a dripping tap, with "2 details to confirm next" and a Continue button.
  2. Step 2

    Real quotes, side by side.

Local tradespeople quote in the app. Each quote shows the price, what's included and when they can start. Pick one.

Collecting quotes on an electrician job, 3 received, with 1 electrician covering your area: each quote shows the tradesperson's name, their star rating and number of reviews (or No reviews yet), the price, when they can start and the start of their message, and two of the tradespeople are based in SA4.
  3. Step 3

    Confirm, and they're paid.

You pay in the app — the tradesperson is paid when you confirm the job's done. Bigger jobs, paid in stages — each one approved by you.

Questions

Short answers.

What is Handled?

An app for getting work done at home. Describe the job in your own words, local tradespeople quote in the app, and you pick one. You pay in the app — the tradesperson is paid when you confirm the job's done.

Where does Handled work?

Wherever tradespeople on Handled cover your postcode. When you post a job, the app matches it to tradespeople nearby; if none covers your postcode yet, no quotes arrive and you pay nothing.

How much does it cost?

Nothing for customers. No fee is added to the price on the quote. For tradespeople: 10% on the first £1,000 of a job, 5% above that — only when the customer pays. No lead fees. No subscription. Quote for free.

How do payments work?

You pay in the app when you accept a quote. The tradesperson is paid when you confirm the job's done. If you don't respond in the 7 days after the tradesperson marks the job complete, and no issue is open, the job is confirmed for you. Bigger jobs, paid in stages — each one approved by you.

Who are the tradespeople?

Local tradespeople who applied to join. We record identity through our payment provider, the Gas Safe registration number for gas work (checked against the Gas Safe Register), the registration and scheme for electrical work, and insurance dates. You see a tradesperson's business name, what's on record for them, and the quote details.

What if something goes wrong?

Raise an issue in the app before you confirm the job's done. The tradesperson isn't paid while we look into it with both sides.
