Questions about electrical jobs
Why does the app ask for a photo of my fuse board?
It shows the electrician what's installed before they quote. Open the fuse board's lid and take the photo — don't undo any screws or take off the inner cover.
My electrics keep tripping. What do I choose?
Fault finding. The app then asks whether circuits keep tripping, some rooms have power and others don't, or there's buzzing or a burning smell, and roughly how old the property is, so the electrician knows what wiring to expect.
Can I get an EICR for a house I rent out?
Yes. Choose EICR or landlord certificate and say what it's for — a landlord certificate, buying or selling, insurance, or a general check. The electrician quotes for the inspection and the report.
Can I get an EV charger fitted?
Choose EV charger and say where it's going — inside the house, a garage or outbuilding, or outdoors. A photo of the spot and one of your fuse board let the electrician see how far apart they are before quoting.
Can a rewire be done in stages?
Choose Rewire and say whether it's the whole house or part of it. An electrician can quote a rewire in stages. You pay for each stage in the app and approve it when it's done; the electrician is paid for that stage when you do.
