Payments
How payments work.
Four things to know, in the app's own words.
Paying
You pay in the app when you accept a quote: the full price for a fixed quote, or the higher figure for a range quote. A quote in stages is paid one stage at a time. On a range quote, the difference between the higher figure and the final price, less any extra you agreed that is not yet paid, is refunded to your card when the job is confirmed. Any balance, such as an extra you agreed that is not yet paid, is charged to your saved card when you confirm the job's done. The tradesperson is paid when you confirm.
Timing
If you don't respond in the 7 days after the tradesperson marks the job complete, and no issue is open, the job is confirmed for you. If a balance is still owed, the job stays open until you confirm it and pay.
Cancelling
Cancel before the tradesperson starts and you're refunded, less the cost of any materials they've recorded buying for your job, which then belong to you. If work has already started at your request, you pay for the work done up to that point.
Issues
If something's wrong, raise an issue in the app before you confirm. The tradesperson isn't paid while we look into it with both sides.
Bigger jobs, paid in stages — each one approved by you. Each stage follows the same rules.
For tradespeople
The fee, and when you're paid.
10% on the first £1,000 of a job, 5% above that — only when the customer pays. No lead fees. No subscription. Quote for free.
You're paid when the customer confirms the job's done.
