Questions about roofing jobs
I can't get up there. What photos should I add?
The roof from the ground or a window, any stains or drips inside, and the gutters or the problem area if you can see them. There's no need to go up a ladder.
What if water is coming through the ceiling now?
Choose Roof leak repair and, when the app asks how urgent it is, “Water is coming in now”. That shows on the job before any roofer quotes, and each quote says when they can start.
How do I know if my roof is slate or tile?
Slate is thin, flat and usually dark grey; tiles are thicker and often shaped. If you're not sure, choose Not sure — the photo lets the roofer tell.
Can a roofer replace my gutters and fascias?
Yes — choose Gutter repair or replacement, or Fascias and soffits replacement. If the gutters only need clearing, that's a cleaning job: post it under Exterior cleaner.
Is a full re-roof paid all at once?
It doesn't have to be. A roofer can split the quote into stages. You pay for each stage in the app and approve it when it's done; the roofer is paid for that stage when you do.
